PITT COUNTY, N.C. – October 28, 2026, 10AM, For Immediate Release

Pitt County announces the opening of its Letter of Intent (LOI) process for organizations interested in applying for Opioid Settlement funding. The LOI submission period will open on Monday, November 2 and close on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Through the national opioid settlement, Pitt County is committed to supporting strategies and initiatives that address the opioid overdose crisis and strengthen prevention, treatment, recovery and support services throughout the community.

“Organizations interested in pursuing funding must submit the Letter of Intent form by the deadline to be considered.  Eligible proposals must address issues related to the opioid overdose crisis in Pitt County and align with the requirements outlined in the North Carolina Opioid Settlement Memorandum of Agreement,” says Caitlyn Hewson, Pitt County Opioid Settlement Coordinator.

The Letter of Intent form, eligibility requirements and the application process are available at PittCountyNC.gov/OSGrants. Applicants are encouraged to review the available information and ensure their submissions are complete and received before the deadline. LOIs must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

“Finalists selected through the LOI process will be invited to submit a full application. To be considered, applicants must complete the form in full, answering all questions completely.  The County intends to allocate funding to multiple projects each fiscal year on a reimbursement basis,” continues Hewson.
